Against The Grain

God has really been blessing the ministry.  We have already received four phone calls for referrals this morning.  Pray that we can continue to make a difference.

Against the Grain was awarded a $1,000 grant from Sam's Club today.  It is the second award they have received, the first was from the Wal-Mart division.  AtG is currently raising funds to match a $100,000 grant that was awarded to AtG during the Third Annual Fall Banquet.  Any gifts received and pledged by the end of the year will be matched and these funds as well. will be matched!  The total received so far for the matching grant is $57,380.  Praise GOD!

The newest member of the Image Builders program is Tiristan.  Lykeisha (the young pregnant women who sang at the banqet) had Tristan @ 5:38 Friday morning.  He has 10 fingers, 10 toes, was a whopping 7 lbs. 12 1/2 ounces.  Mother and son are doing well.  Thanks for all the prayers for them, please continue as she will have to raise him on her own.

Just a quick update on the Single Mother (post listed below entitled Mom Needs Emergency Housing).  We were able to help her reconcile with her mother and she has moved into her own place closer to her parents.  There, she has housing, babysitting, a church willing to provide love and support and several job possibilities.  We are grateful that God brought her into our life.  We will continue to work with her, providing training and support as well as continue to work through the reconciliation with her family.  Thanks to all who partner with AtG through prayer, volunteering and financially, your support allowed this young lady get back with her family and back on her feet…GREAT JOB
